  • Home Theatre DVD Players (Blu-Ray)
DVD players are an essential piece of any home theatre setup. With the advancement of technology, DVD players have taken a step forward. Blu-Ray is a new technology in DVD players that produce?a true high definition picture. (1080i/1080p)?Prices on these DVD players have come down considerably. Here is a vendor that?I have shopped with for many years, that provide a good selection of Blu-Ray DVD players. Check them out! Philips Blu-Ray Disc Player BDP7200/37 LG Network Blu-ray Disc Player BD370 SAMSUNG Blu-Ray Disk Player BD-P1600 ? *PREFERED MODEL?* Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Player DMP-BD60 Magnavox Blu-Ray Player NB500MG9 Sharp AQUOS 1080p HD Blu-Ray Disc Player BD-HP21U ?
  • Home Theatre Speakers
Home Theatre speakers come in many different brands, shapes and sizes. Some want to have their speakers mounted on the wall, while others want to have them on floor stands. Or even half and half. This is a personal preference. The most important thing you can do when purchasing speakers is to stay with the same brand when you are pairing up speakers ie: front speakers (left and right) need?to stay the same. Your surround sound side and/or rear speakers need to stay matched! Here are some rules or guides to follow when positioning your speakers: After you have established your video screen size, put your FRONT left and right speakers AS CLOSE to the edge of the screen as you can without covering it up. Also make SURE you balance their vertical position so the the middle of the speaker will match the center of the screen. You will want your center channel speaker to be placed just?below the video screen, and once again, the center of the speaker centered up with the vertical center of the video screen. Your surround sound speakers should be placed on the left side and right side walls, and inline with the main row of seating for your theatre (usually 2/3 back for the screen) .The height of these need to be the same, but the actual height is not so important as making sure that they are able to tilt and be aimed to the center of your seating. If you have a 7.1 system, your going to have 2 more speakers that will be placed on the back wall (left rear and right rear). You will want to make sure that they are positioned equally apart on the back wall, and at the same height as the side surround speakers. Last of all, your subwoofer needs to be placed (for best performance) either on the floor below the center of the screen and against the wall, or?in the left or right front corners. Here are some of the places that I have shopped at to buy speakers for home theatres. My recommendation would be to stick?with a good brand of speakers like Polk. I love Polk speakers! They are a great speaker for a great price! If you want a really nice sounding setup, go with POLK: 2 RTi6’s (front left and right) CS1 (center) Monitor 30’s (2 or 4) for your surround speakers PSW505 (subwoofer) Here are the sights: ? ? ? ?
  • Home Theatre Receivers
In every home theatre setup there must be an A/V Receiver (audio/video). This is the brains of the whole system! Without this, you will have no way of being able to change video sources on the screen (ie: TV, DVD, Satellite, Video Games etc.) or having the ability to decode that wonderful surround sound that is on that DVD movie. Yup, without this piece, your sunk! You can think of it this way, ALL wires (signals) whether audio or video, lead to the A/V receiver. This is the way you will make sure it does EVERYTHING you want it to, before you buy. The capabilities of these devices is to indepth for this writing, BUT I do have some advice for you. If you want to have a GOOD soild A/V receiver, one that DOES have all the features you will ever need, easy to setup and user friendly, then YAMAHA is the way to go. I have worked with many diffrent types of A/V receivers, and yes there are some really great ones, but they come with a huge price tag! What we are looking for is something good that can change video sources and produce that wonderful 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. THATS IT! These YAMAHA models will do just that and more. If you can fit these into your budget, you will not be sorry. ? • Home Theatre Projectors
The Projector that you put into your home theatre will be the single biggest purchase of the whole system. The projecter HAS?to meet four areas of critiria: Reliability Clairity Features Price There are (in my opinion) 4 brands that meet these needs: Panasonic, Sanyo, Epson, Sony. All of these manufacturers have good solid products that can produce that vivid picture without killing you on the price. My favorite brand is Panasonic. It IS the best projector for the money, HANDS DOWN! You can expect to pay $1700.00 - $3000.00 for a good one. The Panasonic will be in the $2200.00 - $2500.00 Price range. Now don’t baulk at the prices, because to get a TV that could handle the size of picture these guys can do, would put the price out of reach! Here are the top selling 1080P models for 2009 in order: Panasonic AE3000U Epson 6500UB Epson 6100 Sony VPL-HW10 Sanyo Z700 Sanyo Z3000 Mitsubishi HC5500 JVC DLA-RS10 InFocus X10 BenQ W5000 ?These are 1080P Projectors, meaning that they will produce 1080 lines of picture resolution (1920X1080). The "P" means progressive in that it draws the 1080 lines every 1/30th of a second. Pretty Nice! These projectors are higher in price for that very reason. If you are going to have a screen size that is 60" and above, then you will want to look into buying one of these. If you are going to have a screen size less than "60", you can save some money by looking into getting a 720P projector. Here are the top selling 720P models for 2009 in order: Optoma HD65 Panasonic AX200 Epson Home 720 InFocus X9 Mitsubishi HC1600 Optoma HD71 Sanyo Z60 BenQ W500 Epson TW700 SharpVision DT-510 ?If you want great deals on Projectors (I mean great) go here: ?
  • Home Theatre Screen
My recommendation for screens is simple. Take the time and paint one on using the "Screen Goo" paint system. I have used it numerous of times and it works and LOOKS like a charm! It is amazing stuff AND it only costs a FRACTION of the price of a pre-fabed screen. Most "Screen Goo" screens are done under 150 dollars! Now compare that to $1000.00!? If you are still wanting to purchase a Pre-Fab screen, then the following link will also show you some options for that. Click here to see the "Screen Goo" paint and other projector screen options. REMEMBER! You need to match the "Screen Goo Paint" to your projector! Here is the place to do that.
